Paul started working with the Fernald Law Group in 2011 as a law clerk. Now a licensed attorney, Paul works alongside Brandon and Rachel taking on typical firm work, i.e. drafting motions, briefs, ex parte applications, legal research memorandums, client letters etcetera. Paul also takes and defends clients at deposition and regularly appears for hearings in both state and federal court.
More specifically, Paul was recently second chair in a three-day jury trial at which FLG successfully defended a local medical equipment manufacturer against an employment discrimination lawsuit in which the plaintiff claimed that her co-workers had chastised her for being bald as a result of formerly having cancer. FLG was able to substantially reduce the jury award to a paltry $7,000.
In addition, Paul also worked very closely on a recent trademark infringement case in which FLG received favorable rulings on its motion for summary judgement which allowed it to get a permanent injunction entered against the opposing parties.
This year, Paul also second chaired a three-day commercial arbitration and appeared pro hac vice for one of FLG’s corporate clients defending it against negligence and product liability claims.
